Ethereum honeypot checker

Paste an Ethereum token address: we buy and sell it in a simulation against its real pool and show whether the sale goes through and how much tax it takes. Free, no sign-up, no wallet connection.

Next to the sell test the result shows the buy and sell tax, whether the contract can mint tokens, pause transfers or blacklist wallets, whether its code can be replaced and by whom, who holds the supply and whether the liquidity is locked. Every line has its source and the date it was read.

How the sell test works on Ethereum

The check finds the token’s largest pool against ETH, USDC or USDT on Uniswap and other V2 and V3 exchanges. From a fresh test address it buys a small amount from that pool. An hour of blocks later it sells 90% of what it received back through an exchange router. The buy tax is what the pool sent minus what arrived; the sell tax is what was sent minus what reached the pool. If the sale reverts, the token cannot be sold. If it goes through but nothing arrives, the tax takes the whole sale — that is a honeypot too.

It is a simulation against the live contract and the live pool: nothing is sent to the chain and nothing is spent. When our data source and our own test disagree, the page says so and shows both.

On Ethereum most tokens people check are established ones, and most of them sell without trouble. A honeypot can be built to pass a simple test: the sale is blocked only for a wallet that has just bought, or only when the exchange router pulls the tokens. That is why the test buys first, waits an hour of blocks and then sells through a router — not just a transfer of tokens the test wallet never bought.

Many large Ethereum tokens are upgradeable proxies, where the code can be replaced after the check. The result says who can replace it.

What our checks have found on Ethereum

Since 19 Aug 2026, 114 Ethereum tokens have been checked on this site. 1 could not be sold, and 59 let someone mint new tokens. These are the tokens checked here, not a sample of the whole network — figures as of 21 Oct 2026.

The latest Ethereum tokens our check found could not be sold:

  • FXB — transfers blocked (checked 18 Oct 2026)

What a passed test does not prove

One wallet, one small amount, one moment. A token can pass today and be switched to honeypot tomorrow by whoever holds the right functions — which is why the result lists those functions next to the test. More in what a sell test proves, and what it can’t.

Other networks: BSC · Base · Arbitrum, Polygon and Robinhood Chain on the general check.
